Box selection

Choose a skincare box around the container and the routine

A dropper bottle, a pump bottle and a glass jar need different support, and a regimen kit needs a layout that explains the routine. Fix the container sizes first, then choose the structure and the quantity per design.

Decision pointPractical guidanceImpact
Folding cartonSingle serums, creams and cleansers sold one per box. From 500 pieces per design. Check lock style, board and the space needed for required text.
Folding carton with paperboard insertDropper and pump bottles or jars that must stay upright and not shift. From 500 pieces per design. Confirm the insert holds the container with the cap or pump fitted.
Rigid or drawer kit boxRegimen, trial and travel kits with several products. From 500 pieces per design. Lay the insert out in the order of use and cut every slot to a real container.
Fit and approval

Container fit and label checks before sample approval

Review the physical sample with the intended product before releasing bulk production.

  • Measure with the closure fitted: include the pump, dropper bulb and cap. A pump can add more height than expected, and a dropper bulb should not press on the lid.
  • Treat glass separately: heavier glass jars and bottles benefit from a lock-bottom carton or an insert, so the base holds and the container does not rattle.
  • Size tubes to the crimped end: the sealed end is usually wider than the cap end, so check both before fixing the carton width.
  • Reserve the required text: keep room for the product name, net contents, ingredient list, batch code and barcode. Required wording depends on the destination market, so confirm it before artwork is locked.
  • Test the packed kit: check every slot, removal access and the order of use with real containers, then pack the box in its outer carton.
Quote planning

What changes the price of a skincare box?

Start with the box type, quantity and email. Add container dimensions with the pump or dropper fitted, the number of SKUs and quantity per design, the destination and any finishes. Artwork can follow once the structure is agreed.

Decision pointPractical guidanceImpact
Carton or rigid structureCartons are cheaper per unit at volume; rigid kit boxes use more board, wrapping paper and hand assembly.Compare packed volume and freight as well as unit price.
Insert typeA paperboard insert, an EVA insert and no insert differ in cost and in how firmly the container is held.Choose the insert from the heaviest or most fragile product.
SKU and artwork countMinimums apply per design, so a range with many printed variants multiplies the minimum.List units per artwork, and share one structure where products allow.
Finish and information panelsFoil, embossing and soft-touch lamination add steps; long ingredient lists need larger panels.Spend finishing on the faces customers see and keep the rest simple.

FAQ

Custom Skincare Packaging questions

Use these answers when comparing custom packaging suppliers.

What is the MOQ for custom skincare boxes?

All structures start from 500 pieces per design.

Can a carton hold a dropper bottle upright?

Yes. A die-cut paperboard insert inside the carton can hold the bottle upright and keep the dropper from pressing against the lid. Confirm the fit on a sample with the real bottle.

Can you make a box for a full regimen kit?

Yes. Rigid, magnetic and drawer boxes can take an insert cut for several products, laid out in the order of use. Send every container so each slot is sized to fit.

Do you supply the bottles, jars or tubes?

No. PackClarity supplies the outer boxes, tubes and inserts. Send your container or its drawing so the box and insert are sized to it.

How long do samples and production take?

About 7 days for samples after the dieline and artwork are confirmed, and about 20 days for bulk production after sample approval. Door-to-door delivery is typically 30-40 days from order.
